DISABILITY INCLUSION ACTION PLAN ADOPTED

On 28 June 2017 Wingecarribee Shire Council adopted its Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

The adoption of the plan is a fantastic result for the community and we thank everyone who took the time to help develop it and provide feedback on the draft document.

The Disability Inclusion Action Plan outlines the steps that Council, in conjunction with our broader community, will implement to make sure residents and visitors with a disability have greater access to services, facilities, events and information.

It also provides recommendations and clear goals in achieving these outcomes.

Central to the document are plans on removing barriers and making our Shire an even more inclusive destination and place to live for people with disability.

Four focus areas were detailed within the plan and include attitudes and behaviours, liveable communities, employment and systems and processes.
