Will the survey results be made available?

The survey results will guide Council in developing the Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-206.
A summary of the survey results will be included in Strategy, but will not be
    published separately.

Can people under 55 years contribute to the Positive Ageing Strategy?

Yes. While, the focus of the project is older people in the Wingecaribee and what is important to them, all residents are welcome to contribute their views.  The ageing of our community will affect all residents over time, as we age ourselves, care for an older relative or simply participate in a community with a growing number of older people.

How are service providers being involved in the project?

Council is very keen to ensure that that the knowledge, skills and experience of service providers delivering services to older people in the Wingecarribee informs the Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-26.

Specific service provider workshops will be held to seek service provider views. Service providers will also be asked to contribute information to assist in developing a clear picture of current service provision for older people in the Wingecaribbee, as part of the project.

How will Council fund any projects or improvements that are identified as part of the Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-2026?

The Strategy will cover a ten year plan and represent a long term approach to improving the shire for older people. Some of the actions identified will have cost
implications and others, for example, improving information available to older people, will have minimal costs.

Actions with cost implications will be considered as part of Council’s regular budget allocation and review process and progressed as resources allow.
