Council staff are preparing plans for the rehabilitation of Bong Bong Road, Mittagong (between Mary and Belmore Streets) in the 2015/16 financial year.

Rehabilitation works will address the poor condition of the road pavement, narrow road width, storm water drainage problems and the inaccessibility of nature strips. Take a look at the plans which include:

  • Storm water pit and pipe installation
  • Kerb and Gutter construction
  • Widening and sealing of the existing road pavement
  • Concrete shared pathway 1.5m wide

The removal or trimming of some street trees will be required as part of the upgrade and Council has engaged an independent Arborist to guide this aspect of the work.

Property owners in the vicinity of this project have been contacted recently to advise of the improvement plans. They will continue to be notified as the project progresses however this page will also provide updates and information.

Driveways will be finished within the first few weeks of July, bringing the job to a close.

Work on Bong Bong Road improvements is continuing. We distributed an updated set of plans to affected Bong Bong Road residents in July and are currently waiting to confirm when water main renewal work will occur. Quotes have also been sought for the removal of 18 trees.

At this point in time, road works are scheduled to commence in February 2016 but this is dependent on many factors including weather. As we confirm dates and impacts of the various stages we will notify residents in Bong Bong Road and the wider area. For further information please contact Trevor Grant (02) 4868 0824 or Josh Provis (02) 4868 0569.
