Bowral Main Street Improvements

Bong Bong Street & Corbett Plaza

Are you interested in improving the attractiveness of Bowral's main street while maintaining the distinctive character of Bowral within the Southern Highlands region? Stay informed as Wingecarribee Shire Council develops a Masterplan in 2019 for streetscape improvements.

Wingecarribee Shire Council has appointed Complete Urban to provide design services for the development of a Masterplan aimed at improving the attractiveness of Bong Bong Street and Corbett Plaza in Bowral.

Surveyors and other contractors will be collecting information in Bong Bong Street and Corbett Plaza over the next few weeks regarding underground services, drainage, structures, etc.

Complete Urban will then lead a Project Control Group of Council Staff to develop designs for streetscape improvements in consultation with Council and the community.

The first milestone for the project will be the preparation of three concept masterplan options. Following a review by Councillors, these will then be presented to the community for review and comment.

All feedback will be considered by the Project Control Group before the Final Masterplan is prepared and presented to Councillors for final endorsement.

Once adopted the Masterplan will form the basis of future work packages which will be detail designed and costed for inclusion in Council’s future Capital Works Program.

Masterplans are visionary and intended to explore the possibilities of sites in order to develop and protect them in the most appropriate manner for each particular location. The Masterplan will indicate short, medium and long term projects, some of which are aspirational and subject to available funding, environmental impacts and community feedback.
