Bowral Parking, Traffic and Transport Strategy

Council is seeking comment from the community regarding a Parking, Traffic and Transport Strategy proposed for the Bowral Town Centre. The strategy, currently on exhibition, comprises a combination of infrastructure and management elements to address existing and future traffic related issues.

An Information kit has been prepared to summarise the detailed analysis and modelling undertaken to identify current and future needs of the Bowral Town Centre as well as outline the short and long term improvements proposed in the draft strategy.

Copies of the information kit, draft strategy and other associated documents are available in the document library or can be collected from Council’s Civic Centre in Moss Vale as well as Mittagong, Bowral and Moss Vale libraries.

There are many ways you can share your views and contribute ideas:

  • Register to join the online forum discussion.
  • Attend a public forum in July to observe computerised traffic modelling and discuss proposals.
  • If you have other ideas for improving Bowral please use the discussion forums which appear when you scroll down the page.
  • View the recorded presentations and check out the other background documents in the library.
  • Let your friends and neighbours know about this consultation opportunity so they too can have their say.

    Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking comment from the Shire’s residents regarding a Parking, Traffic and Transport Strategy proposed for the Bowral town centre.

    The strategy, currently on exhibition, comprises a combination of infrastructure and management elements to address existing and future traffic related issues.

    General Manager Jason Gordon explained recommendations in the draft strategy were based on current and future needs of the town centre, identified through detailed analysis and modelling.

    “There has been a lengthy process associated with the development of this strategy and we are now urging the community to take a look and provide some feedback.

    “An Information Kit has been prepared to summarise the current and future needs of the Bowral town centre as well as outline the short and long-term improvements as proposed in the draft strategy,” he said.

    “I urge everyone to take a look at the draft strategy document before they comment as this will guide the way Council manages traffic, parking and transport in the Shire’s busiest town centre.”

    As part of the community engagement process Council has set up a dedicated webpage at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au which offers a library of associated documents and diagrams, discussion forums and opportunities to learn more about the proposals.

    “A public forum will be held on Tuesday 17 July, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at The Empire Cinema Bowral to observe computerised traffic modelling and discuss the proposals,” Mr Gordon added.
