Consultation has concluded

Background

In August 2021, feedback was sought from the community in regards to the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) Grants Program.

The BSBR grant was a program under the National Recovery and Resilience Agency aimed to support community recovery or resilience. Projects had to address one or more of the following recovery or resilience needs:

  • social recovery and resilience
  • economic recovery and resilience
  • recovery and resilience of the built environment

A total of 12 projects were identified by Council that support the built and social recovery and resilience needs. Community consultation was undertaken to determine community support for the proposed projects. The survey received a total of 62 responses. Residents had the opportunity to inform Council of the top two projects of the built environment and how these projects would benefit community.

The top project recommended by community for the built environment was Jordan's Crossing, Bundanoon - Fenced off-leash dog area est.$200,000.

Council was successful in their grant application for an Off Leash dog park at Bundanoon and have received $150,000.

We plan to include the following features in the new fenced off leash dog park:

  • 3 remote supervision signs
  • 6 * 900mm wide single gate with two posts (latch on latch off area)
  • 2 * 3500mm wide gates with two posts

Have we got it right? Have we missed something?

We'd like to thank those who provided feedback on the draft Bundanoon Off Leash Dog Park design.

Your valuable feedback has been taken into consideration when creating the final design which we would now like to share with you.

    The notable changes include:

    • Bench seats with concrete bases to be provided under native shade trees as well as some located under shade structures.
    • Provide additional drainage infrastructure to boggy areas.
    • The pedestrian entry has now been moved adjacent to the existing footpath and will be concreted to allow for better mobility access.
    • A pedestrian access way has now been included to allow direct access from Lorna Close to Jordans Crossing.
    • Although the original design included vehicle access for Council's maintenance team, the revised plan has relocated access which will allow for parking during the Brigadoon Festival.

Thank you once again for your valuable feedback.

The project will now move forward.
