Focus Group Participation: Call for expressions of interest

Council is running a series of Community Focus Groups in October 2022. In these sessions we will consider 'what's changed in the Shire' over the past 5 years.
We are seeking expressions of interest from people across the Shire to participate in the conversation.
Council is currently updating the Wingecarribee Community Strategic Plan 'Wingecarribee 2031; Our Future, Our Choice', which considers the goals and aspirations of the community and how, together, we can achieve them.
The Plan undergoes a comprehensive update every four years with the next review due in 2024 when we welcome a new Council. A lot has changed since the Plan was last updated, so a 'refresh' of the current Plan will be undertaken this year to ensure it is reflective of current, new and emerging issues and priorities.
As part of the update, Council will also be reviewing its Community Engagement Strategy and would like to know more about how the community would like to be engaged in the future.
Purpose of Focus Groups
- to test the themes and priorities in the current Community Strategic Plan in order to identify both gaps and opportunities and;
- to gather input from the community on how you would like to be engaged in the future.
Information gathered in these sessions will be used to inform updates to the Community Strategic Plan and Community Engagement Strategy.
There will be 3 general participation Focus Groups open to all members of the community. A separate Focus Group will be run for representatives of local community organisations. A light meal will be provided for all Focus Groups.

- Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- Location: Penrose Community Hall

Focus Group 3
- Date: Thursday 20 October 2022
- Time: 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
- Location: Yerrinbool Community Hall
- Light meal provided
How to participate
If you would like to participate in one of the three focus groups, please take the time to fill in our quick Registration Form before 4.30 pm Friday 14 October 2022.
The make-up of the general focus groups will seek to represent a range of community members. As there is limited capacity, you will be advised by Monday 17 October 2022 if you have been selected to be a part of the general focus groups, based on the responses to the survey questions.
