BACKGROUND: The Community Strategic Plan, Wingecarribee 2031+, is a blueprint for the future of the Southern Highlands. It represents the vision, aspirations, goals, priorities and challenges developed and identified by our community. The goals of W2031+ cannot be achieved without sufficient resources – time, money, assets and people – to actually carry them out. Accordingly a number of supporting plans and programs are prepared by Council to guide the way staff will work towards achieving the aspirations of our community.

The Resourcing Strategy consists of three components:

  • Long Term Financial Planning
  • Workforce Management Planning
  • Asset Management Planning

The Delivery Program sets out the principal activities which will be undertaken across the full range of Council’s operations to directly address the goals and strategies outlined in W2031+. These activities are those that we have the responsibility and capacity to implement through links to Council’s Resourcing Strategy. The Delivery Program will run for 4 years to June 2017.

The Operational Plan supports implementation of the 2013-2017 Delivery Program and outlines in more detail the individual actions and activities that Council will undertake in the 2013-2014 financial year.
Each of the documents are available for viewing in the library.

Take a look and let us know what you think by 4pm Monday 10 June 2013.

Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking comment from the community after councillors last night endorsed the draft 2013-14 Operational Plan and 2013-17 Delivery Program which will go on public exhibition next week.

The draft documents represent Council’s response to public input gathered from Wingecarribee 2031+, Council’s long-term community plan for the Southern Highlands.

Wingecarribee Shire Council General Manager, Jason Gordon said the documents were an opportunity for residents to comment on Council’s immediate program of works and broader future agenda.

"Together, these documents not only foreshadow our upcoming works, but help us to allocate the financial, physical and human resources to meet these projects," Mr Gordon said.

"In brief, they will help detail both our immediate goals and funding priorities we will commit to over the next two years, but also help to shape our long-term infrastructure projects."

The draft documents will be on exhibition until Monday 10 June 2013.

The documents can be viewed online at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au or at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre and at Council’s libraries.

Feedback and submissions must be made by close of business 10 June 2013 via email at: wscmail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or in writing addressed to the General Manager at PO Box 141, Moss Vale, 2577

"We invite all of our residents to provide us with feedback, because ultimately, these documents will help set the future agenda of our Shire".
