  • Proposed Road Closure alongside Botanic Gardens site in Bowral

    Proposed Road Closing Under Section 38B Roads Act 1993.

    In pursuance of the provisions of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Wingecarribee Shire Council proposes to close the Council Public Road in Schedule 1:

    • Part Road Reserve, Corner Old South Road and Kangaloon Road Bowral.

    Upon closure of the road, Council proposes to legally change the land classification to 'Community Land' and consolidate the newly created lots with the title for the Botanic Gardens Site.

    Information about the proposal can be found in the document library or viewed at Council Libraries and the Civic Centre:

    All interested persons are hereby invited to make submissions concerning the proposal within the associated twenty eight (28) day public exhibition period of 9 October to 8 November 2019. Please note that under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.

    Once the exhibition period has concluded, Wingecarribee Shire Council will consider all submissions before deciding whether to continue with the road closure proposal.

    In accordance with Sections 46 & 47 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council gives notice of its intention to consider granting a:

    • Licence Agreement to Rotary Club Bowral-Mittagong and Bowral Lions club for occupation of the storage shed located within the public golf course at 21 Boronia Street, Bowral being part Lot 12 in Deposited Plan 739274 for a term of five (5) years.

  • Amendments to proposed Lease of Aboriginal Community Cultural Centre

    CLOSED: This public exhibition has concluded.

    Wingecarribee Shire Council hereby gives notice of its intention to amend the proposed Lease to Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council (ABN 83 448 059 128) over the premises known as the Wingecarribee Aboriginal Community Cultural Centre at Rainbow Street, Mittagong(Lot 33 in DP 9299).

    The Lease has been amended to include additional clause 27 “Employment Opportunities” and clause 28 “Establishment of Advisory Group”.

    Wingecarribee Shire Council hereby gives notice of its intention to amend the proposed Lease to Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council (ABN 83 448 059 128) over the premises known as the Wingecarribee Aboriginal Community Cultural Centre at Rainbow Street, Mittagong(Lot 33 in DP 9299).

  • Proposed Licence Agreement - Community Garden - Part 9 Cook Street, Mittagong

    In accordance with Sections 46 & 47 of the Local Government Act 1993, Wingecarribee Shire Council hereby gives notice of its intention to consider granting a five (5) year Licence to Challenge Southern Highlands Inc to use approximately 600m2 of Council Community land being part Public Recreation Area at 9 Cook Street, Mittagong (part Lot 2 in DP1208463).

    Challenge Southern Highlands approached Council with a view to establishing a community garden in the Public Reserve at 9 Cook Street, Mittagong. Challenge SH proposes to establish a community garden and to build a small shed/storage area for garden equipment and to also connect to water supply.
