Merrigang Street Works

Council is preparing plans for the reconstruction of Merrigang Street in Bowral, from Jasmine Street to Myrtle Street.

The work will include rehabilitation of the existing road pavement, construction of new kerb and gutter, and installation of new water mains. Council is also investigating the need for additional stormwater drainage and possible removal and replacement of some street trees.

Construction will commence in the 2019/20 financial year and a start date will be advised closer to the time. Construction is expected to take five months with work halted during Tulip Time. Traffic control will be in place during construction with residential access being maintained over this time.

Council has written to all property owners in the vicinity and would like to hear about any issues that you would like us to consider as part of the project. This can be done via the online form or by contacting Councils’ Civil Design & Project Officer, Michael Rayner on 4868 0509 or michael.rayner@wsc.nsw.gov.au.

Q&A

  • Will the reconstruction of Merrigang Street from Jasmine to Albert Streets (Stage 2) be to the same standard as Stage 1 of Merrigang Street?

Warren Fahey asked 3 months ago

YES, the projects are almost identical in scope and we have every intention of matching the quality.

Michael Rayner | Civil Design and Project Officer

  • When does Council expect a final layout plan detailing the proposed work will be provided? For meaningful feedback interested parties need time to view and analyse Council's proposed work - and certainly before submissions close on 27 May 2019 for the 2019/20 Draft Operational Plan.

Warren Fahey asked 3 months ago

The plan was displayed at the information kiosk held on 21 May 2019 and can be viewed in the Project Updates section of www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/merrigang

  • When will Merrigang Street be upgraded at the upper end, from Myrtle to Albert St? Thank you

    Molly asked 4 months ago

    Hi Molly,

The road surface for Merrigang Street will be reconstructed from Jasmine Street to Albert Street in the 2019/20 financial year.

Council will be in touch as the work draws closer to ensure residents are informed.

    Regards,
