Moss Vale Cemetery Landscape Plan

Have your say about the landscape plan proposed for Moss Vale Cemetery!
Dedicated as a cemetery in 1897, the Moss Vale Cemetery on Berrima Road is defined by a row of pine trees and a scenic rural landscape. Only 548 names are recorded for the cemetery since the first burial in 1909 and Council is exploring ways to make the large burial area more attractive to mourning residents across the Shire.
A draft Landscape Master Plan has been prepared in consultation with funeral directors and other stakeholders to revitalise Moss Vale Cemetery. The plan aims to strengthen the cemetery’s sense of place and utilise its inherent natural features and views, thereby promoting desirability of the facility, as well as being an inviting place for people to mourn and reflect, well into the future.
The cemetery landscape design is intended to meet the specific needs of Wingecarribee’s diverse population, providing each community group with the dignity and the services that best meet their cultural, family and religious requirements.
