  • Planning Proposal for 'Yarrabin', Bowral

    On 12 August 2020 Council resolved to proceed with a Planning Proposal to amend the Wingecarribee Local Environmental Plan (WLEP) 2010 by adding land at 32 Kangaloon Road, Bowral, (Lot 40 DP 862808) as a new heritage item and extending the adjacent Bowral Heritage Conservation Area. The intent of the proposed change to WLEP 2010 is to recognise the heritage significance of the property known as ‘Yarrabin’ by adding it to the list of heritage items in Schedule 5 of the WLEP 2010 and extending the eastern boundary of Bowral Conservation Area to include this property.

    On 09 october 2020 the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment issued a Gateway Determination to progress the Planning Proposal to public exhibition. The Proposal is now exhibited in accordance with the Gateway requirements and submissions sought from the community.

    EXHIBITION DATES: The Planning Proposal is on public exhibition for a period of 32 days from Thursday 22 October to Monday 23 November 2020, inclusive.

A hard copy of the documents can also be viewed at Council’s Customer Service Counter, Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale NSW 2577, between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday during the exhibition period.

    MAKE A SUBMISSION: Written submissions to the Planning Proposal may be completed online by clicking on the Submission tab and selecting the "'Yarrabin', Bowral - Planning Proposal" submission form. Submissions may also be emailed to mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au(External link), posted to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141, Moss Vale NSW 2577, or hand delivered to the Customer Service Centre, Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale, during business hours.

    Only written submissions can be considered and, although they may be viewed by a third party, they are redacted beforehand (i.e. all identifying features removed).

    All submissions must be received by Council before 4.30pm on Monday 23 November 2020 and quote file reference 5901/80.

    It is noted that Wingecarribee Shire Council is not authorised to exercise the functions of the Minister for Planning under s.3.36 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 with regard to this Planning Proposal.

  • RE-EXHIBITED : Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) and Local Housing Strategy

    On 24 June 2020, Council adopted the Wingecarribee Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) and the Local Housing Strategy (LHS). Subsequently a Notice of Motion was put forward in an ordinary Council meeting on 12 August 2020, to review the two strategies particularly in relation to the new living areas in Colo Vale.

    The LSPS and the LHS have now been reviewed to remove the Wensleydale property and include the two sites within Colo Vale, identified from the exhibition between March and May 2020 into the Local Housing Strategy and Local Strategic Planning Statement, and are on exhibition for a period of six (6) weeks.

    The strategies provide a 20 year land use vision for Wingecarribee Shire, and a planning framework to meet the economic, housing, social and environmental needs of the community.

    EXHIBITION DATES: Six (6) weeks from Wednesday 14 October to Friday 27 November 2020, inclusive.

    COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS: Community engagement sessions will be undertaken during November, and information on the proposed sessions will be made available shortly. The format of the sessions will be determined based on the NSW health guidelines for public gatherings applicable at the time of the sessions.



  • Planning Proposal for 'Rochester Park', Bundanoon

    On 14 August 2019 Council resolved to proceed with a Planning Proposal to amend the Wingecarribee Local Environmental Plan (WLEP) 2010 by adding land at 102-104 Old Wingello Road, Bundanoon, (Lot 32 DP 1205423) as a new heritage item and increasing the applicable minimum lot size controls. The intent of the proposed change to WLEP 2010 is to recognise the heritage significance of the property known as ‘Rochester Park’ by adding it to the list of heritage items in Schedule 5 of the WLEP 2010 and to prevent further subdivision of the site by increasing the minimum lot size from 700m2 to 1 hectare.

    On 17 September 2020 the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment issued a Gateway Determination to progress the Planning Proposal to public exhibition. The Proposal is now exhibited in accordance with the Gateway requirements and submissions sought from the community.

    EXHIBITION DATES: The Planning Proposal is on public exhibition for a period of 34 days from Wednesday 14 October to Tuesday 17 November 2020, inclusive (extended from 13 November).

  • Development Control Plan Amendments - Engineering Specifications

    Council resolved on 9th September 2020 to exhibit the draft Development Control Plan (DCP) with regard to Engineering Specification.

    The purpose of these draft amendments is to remove the reference of the engineering requirements and specifications from the DCPs. The DCPs are supported by a set of Engineering Specifications, which set out specific design and construction standards for all infrastructure to be delivered by Council and / or the development industry within the Shire.

    The draft provisions are on public exhibition from Monday 28 September to Wednesday 26 October 2020.

    Relevant documentation (digital) may be viewed in the documents section for this website as well as a hard copy at Council’s Customer Service Centre in the Civic Centre Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale, during opening hours.

    You are invited to inspect the draft Development Control Plan Amendments _ Engineering Specifications and may make a submission online or as outlined in right column. A submission objecting to any provisions must clearly state the reasons for objection. Submissions should quote file 5700.

    Submissions must be received by 4.30pm on Wednesday 26 October 2020.

  • Development Control Plan Amendments for Signage and Outdoor Advertising

    Council resolved on 26 August 2020 to exhibit draft development control plan provisions with regard to signage and outdoor advertising.

    The purpose of these draft amendments is to provide new controls for digital advertising, as well as update current provisions to ensure that they are consistent with the Exempt and Complying State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP) and SEPP64 which addresses signage and outdoor advertising.

    The draft provisions are on public exhibition from Wednesday 1 September to Wednesday 30 September 2020.
