Bowral's Signature Trees

For as long as I can remember (over 70 years), the beautiful pin oak trees in Station Street have welcomed both visitors and locals to the town. They were already mature trees when I was little, and they are even more majestic now. How can the Council think of removing even one of these historic signature trees? What will be the results if they go ahead with their ill-conceived plan for Station Street? - increased and faster traffic dividing the centre of town from car parks and railway station, posing even more danger to pedestrians than presently exists; no net increase in the number of parking spaces; and, worst of all, damage to the beautiful treescape that is unique to Bowral and provides such a welcome to visitors and a feeling of homecoming to locals.
