TLC for Bowral Pool
Share TLC for Bowral Pool on Facebook Share TLC for Bowral Pool on Twitter Share TLC for Bowral Pool on Linkedin Email TLC for Bowral Pool linkNo we are not putting in an ice-skating rink :-). Bowral swimming centre is just having a bit of repair work done while the pools are empty.
Here’s a summary of what we have been up to and will be doing:
- The existing chlorinated rubber paint has been removed from the 50m, 25m and toddler pools.
- Pool walls and floors have been skim coated to fill the concrete surface, ready for epoxy paint.
- The edging (coping) that is around the rim of the pools will be tiled on the three pools to match both Moss Vale and Mittagong Pools.
- Gutters have been rendered and will be painted.
It should look pretty good when completed by September 2017 and best of all there will be no more tiles falling off!

Council to consider report on repair options for Mittagong Pool
Share Council to consider report on repair options for Mittagong Pool on Facebook Share Council to consider report on repair options for Mittagong Pool on Twitter Share Council to consider report on repair options for Mittagong Pool on Linkedin Email Council to consider report on repair options for Mittagong Pool linkIn early June 2016, the Mittagong Pool site experienced flooding as the result of an east coast low rainfall event that occurred in the area.
The site experienced a variety of damage as a result of inundation including pool cleaners, fences, pool blankets, reels, pool ladders, vinyl liners and pool plant. In addition, water pressure from the flooding under the pools resulted in the structural failure of the floor of the Learn to Swim (LTS) pool.
Council will consider a report on repair options for Mittagong Pool on Wednesday 14 December 2016. See page 66 of the Agenda for more information. The decision will be listed in Minutes from the meeting and can be viewed at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/council-agendas-and-minutes

Mittagong Pool Update
Mittagong Swimming Centre was closed for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 swim seasons as a result of the East Coast Low storm event which lashed the region in early June 2016. The East Coast Low storm event was classified as a ‘natural disaster’ by the Office of Emergency Management.
Extensive inspections by engineers revealed major damage to both the 25 and 50 metre pools and adjacent Plant Room. Of most concern was the structural damage sustained to the floor of the 25 metre pool.
Council will consider options for major repairs to the pool. Click here to read news or scroll down the page.
