Consultation has concluded

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback to our Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Event questionnaire. We received a positive response with almost 100 respondents letting us know their thoughts.

Following community consultation the Reconnecting Regional NSW Program funding will be utilised to hold 'Highlands Fest' on Saturday 4 March 2023 at Bong Bong Racecourse.

From feedback we received, we have developed the What we heard report.

The October Council report and minutes can also be found here.

Council has been successful in their Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program grant application and have received $287,582 from the NSW Government Regional Recovery Package to help support the economic and social recovery of our Shire following extended COVID-19.

We are looking to hold a large scale free community event at the Bong Bong Race Course early in 2023.

This event will celebrate the greatness of our Shire with a full program of events. There will be something for everyone, including:

  • local producers and artisans
  • local business stalls
  • local service groups, along with
  • food and drink trucks.

To complete the day, we plan to run musical performances starting from around 2 pm into the night.

To help make this major event successful, we need your help.

We are seeking community feedback on the name of the event, preferred month and day of the weekend. We'd also like to hear from those who would like to be involved, stall holders, volunteers, entertainers and more.

To provide your feedback, please take a minute to complete a short questionnaire by 4.30 pm Friday 2 September 2022.

Do you have the capability and capacity to be an Event Coordinator? Council is looking for a community member or group to take on the role of Event Coordinator for this project. Procurement closes 10.00 am Tuesday 30 August 2022. For more information please contact Coordinator Community Development on 02 4868 0888.

Please note: if you are unable to complete the online questionnaire, you may provide your feedback via email mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or write to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141, Moss Vale 2577.

All feedback must be received by 4.30 pm Friday 2 September 2022.
