Council's Sporting Facilities - Seasonal Use

At its meeting on 15 February 2023 Council considered a report on the seasonal use of Council sporting facilities.

Council is in the process of implementing an online booking system that will enable the customer to view and book online. As part of the implementation Council is proposing to define dates for and limiting the number of game and training days per club, per week, per season.

The purpose of defining the dates is:

• to provide fair and equitable access of Council Facilities for the Community
• to identify fields that can be used for preseason training, casual use and the rescheduling of games due to wet weather
• to allow Council staff to book in scheduled maintenance for its sports grounds and ground preparation that it requires at the start of each season.

Having defined dates for seasonal hire will enhance the customer service experience by enabling regular user groups and prospective hirers to self manage their bookings via council's on-line booking system.
