Balmoral Park
Consultation has concluded
Wingecarribee Shire Council is excited to announce plans to upgrade Balmoral Reserve. The proposed upgrade will result in a community recreational space.
Balmoral Reserve is located on the corner of Wilson Drive and Hall Street, adjacent to the Balmoral Community Hall which offers a playground, tennis courts, native garden and more.
Council has allocated $200,000 for park related works within the Balmoral Reserve.
With these funds, Council proposes to create a recreational grassed area for families to utilise.
There has been continual consultation over the last few years between Council and the Balmoral Community Association to create something beneficial to the Balmoral Community while taking into consideration concerns for endangered vegetation.
The draft Balmoral Park design can be viewed here.
Another exciting concept Council is looking to include will be an audio station on the reserve. This station would allow access to a database of oral history material relating to Balmoral Village's history and heritage. Further information on the Oral History project -including an Expression of Interest -can be found by clicking here. (Please note: the project is funded from the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program funding.)
Do you like the draft plan? Does the idea of goal posts and seating appeal to you? Or is there other park furniture you would love to see in this space?
