Expressions of Interest - Proposed Lease Southern Regional Livestock Exchange (SRLX)

Council is inviting interested parties to lodge an Expression of Interest to Lease the Southern Regional Livestock Exchange (SRLX) at Berrima Rod, Moss Vale NSW.

Cattle sales are held on Wednesdays, 50 weeks of the year resulting in an output of approximately 56,000 cattle per year (five (5) year average 2017-2021) with an annual gross turnover of between 30 to 35 million dollars per year.

The SRLX property comprises a purpose-built facility for the selling of livestock to enable a functional livestock exchange including administration, stock loading and unloading, handling and feeding and parading in the viewing areas/sales arena. The facility has recently undergone improvement works to the value of $5.2 million.

The stockholding facility comprises approx. 340 holding pens together with overhead walkways and laneways, transport loaders, feeding and watering systems. All livestock pens contain a ‘soft floor’ for animal protection. The stockholding capacity of the facility is 2,200 head.
