Consultation has concluded
East Bowral residents have an opportunity to shape the way their neighbourhood is improved in coming years.
As East Bowral grew, Wingecarribee Shire Council collected developer contributions to make improvements to infrastructure which would benefit the wider community. These funds have been used to provide playgrounds, community centres, footpaths and other infrastructure.
The Section 94 Plan has now been repealed by Council as East Bowral is fully developed, however there are funds remaining that need to be spent. A number of projects have been nominated by the East Bowral Community Group and Council staff which could be undertaken.
Information about each of the projects is provided on the right in the Library.
Unfortunately the ideas put forward exceed the money available so we are asking the community to prioritise them. It is now up to East Bowral residents to consider the proposed improvements and available Section 94 funds.
There are many ways you can share your views and contribute ideas:
Attend the public meeting on 1 September from 7.30pm in the East Bowral Community Centre to hear more about the proposed improvements and ask questions of Council officers. Bookings are essential for free childcare or RSVP by calling 48680761.
Use our Budget Allocator to tell us where your priorities and how to spend the $700,000 of Section 94 funds.
If you have other ideas for improving your neighbourhood please use the discussion forums which appear when you scroll down the page.
View the presentations given at the public meeting (after 1 Sept) plus check out the other background documents in the library.
Let your friends and neighbours know about this consultation opportunity so they too can have their say. Residents who don't have internet access can request a survey to be posted to them by calling 4868 0761.

The opportunity to have you say will commence on 29 August 2011 and conclude on 30 September 2011. NOW EXTENDED TO 4PM WEDNESDAY 5 OCTOBER 2011.

Council staff and the East Bowral Community Group have nominated a number of projects for East Bowral residents to consider. Note : Each of the projects is in the library opposite so please have a look.
Tell us what you think. Do you like them? Could they be improved?
NOTE: You can view the current proposals in the LIBRARY.
A total of $700,000 is available in Section 94 funds for improvement in the East Bowral area. For improvements outside the scope of this funding, please use the next discussion topic.
Parallel parking in this location is causing damage to the grassed areas of the footpath and causing blockage of the cycleway when cars encroach on the path. Are you in favour of continued parking at this location?
If yes, Council suggests options to prevent vehicles encroaching on the pathway and replace the grass with a surface that can be parked on without damage.
If no, Council could install a combination of no stopping signs, trees and a low koppers log fence as used in other parts of East Bowral.
