Green Waste Survey

This consultation has concluded.

Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking feedback from the community about organic garden waste collection options with an estimated charge of around $78 per annum, or $1.50 per week.

Now that we have locked in a very competitive contract for domestic waste services from July 2014, we can be more accurate in estimating the likely cost of introducing a green waste service for inclusion in the domestic waste management charge.

4000 randomly selected ratepayers were invited in March 2012 to provide their opinions and assist us in determining how green waste services were provided. The response to this survey was pleasing however the results were not conclusive.

Have your say. We need you to be involved in this important community decision and encourage you to:

  • Read the information kit and FAQS
  • Consider which option would suit your situation
  • Add your comments to the forum below
  • Use the Q&A tab below to ask a question
  • Complete an online survey by Friday 23 August 2013.
  • Tell friends, colleagues and family about the opportunity to comment

The options being explored by Council are discussed in an Information Kit especially prepared to explain current services, report how green waste is managed, answer frequently asked questions and explore the pros, cons and costs associated with each option. You can download an electronic version of the information kit from the LIBRARY.

Council assures complete confidentiality with regard to personal information and survey responses will remain anonymous. If you have any questions about the survey or waste collection services please call (02) 4868 0888 or email wscmail@wsc.nsw.gov.au.
