The Policy and Guidelines will provide a framework for assessing and approving requests from the community to commemorate loved ones on Council owned public land including parks and reserves.
Improve the management of public spaces within the Shire by providing a framework for the consideration and approval of memorials.
Improve consistency in decision making when Council receives a request to name a public place or building after a significant person within the local community.
For the following types of requests:
Planting of memorial trees
Park seats including plaques
Historical markers and commemorative plaques
Monuments, statues and other memorials
Interpretative signage
Naming of public places
